First Day Jitters

Ok guys my first day in Madrid has come and gone! It was a lot of fun, pictures to come. On Sundays in the city the museums are free so we went to El Museo de Prado and saw all kinds of renessaince art and sculptures, everything was SO beautiful! Then we walked around in a center dowtown, it was so busy but so fun! We also figured out how to ride the metro and now we are experts. Oof, I keep saying "we", my roommate´s name is Daniella, for those of you who don´t know and she and I are getting to know each other as we explore the city together. I really like her, she´s really nice and so funny, and we are both getting whip-lash looking at all the boys! Haha. I know none of you expected anything less from me.

Anyway, I´m at school right now because we have orientation today, we´re already quite frustrated with the international program here, they are VERY and I stress VERY unorganized and they don´t have ANYTHING together. At this point, I´m actually quite disappointed with how things are going, we took the metro and then a bus to get here from the city and then they told us we had to be here everyday this week. Well, our flat, which is walking distance to the campus, won´t be ready for us to move into until Saturday, so there is no way we are going to pay to get out here everyday this week. And I still have NO clue what classes I´ll be taking, I have a meeting today at 3 to talk to an advisor so I plan to rip him a new one and then get all of the classes I need. Get ready, Spain. Haha. Hopefully once the school year starts everything will turn around, FINGERS FREAKIN CROSSED! But I did send a very wordy email to App so hopefully they will help us too, because we are so alone in this.

I´m starting to get home-sick, just because I don´t have my parents here to help me with all this crap! I know this is a great opportunity and adventure for me but I am terrified at this point. And my Spanish has got to get better or I´m screwed, but Daniella says immersion is the best way to help with a second language, so I hope she´s right! We´ve been staying with her "aunt" and listening and talking to her is helping.

I haven´t been drinking all the time, like I thought, I did have wine with lunch my first day, if that counts, but we haven´t gone out. I think we´re going to try to go Friday or Saturday after a retreat with the school. So far so good, or so ok, that would be more appropriate. Haha. I´ll update you guys more when I have more to report! I love you all and miss you so much!

¡Besos!
